The Group Account Director role includes all aspects of business management, including overall organic growth, team mentoring, development and maintenance of relationships with key accounts and senior-level clients, and managing expectations with the agency senior management team. This role will manage a cosmeceutical​ brand and requires experience in health and wellness, specifically skincare and dermatology, and will work with internal teams across disciplines to create and help clients not only imagine new possibilities but help realize them as well. The successful candidate must be team-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. The Group Account Director sets the vision for all partnerships and ensures seamless delivery across the Client Services team. The candidate must be prepared for a fast-paced, growing environment and be comfortable making decisions. This position reports to the Partner, Director of Client Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees at least one overall AOR client relationship
  • Provides strategic insights and advice growing the business and achieving goals
  • Grows account organically, seeking and identifying new opportunities
  • Maintains a robust knowledge of category and competitive environment that impacts client businesses
  • Ensures client work is on strategy and integrated with the client’s overall business plans
  • Addresses emerging trends as needed to maintain client business/brand differentiation
  • Proactively provides clients with marketing insights and problem solving
  • Manages existing resources and identifies additional account team resources to optimize the infusion of the best thinking and project implementation
  • Ensures that ongoing account team efforts are in the best interest of the agency as well as the clients
  • Enhances daily account and creative team(s) collaboration across multiple brands
  • Advocates and supports “Imagination” throughout the work
  • Plays a key role ensuring that all client deliverables consistently meet or surpass client expectation
  • Trains, develops, and mentors account staff – including performance and learning goals
  • Participates in new business opportunities as needed or appropriate
  • Addresses and solves client issues professionally and effectively
  • Knows when to manage problems independently (while keeping leadership informed on all activities)
  • Works with Account team and agency departments to ensure efficient and timely work flow that balances creative quality, resources, budget parameters, and client needs (urgent projects/timeframes)
  • Oversees all financials for their businesses
    • Develop annual client revenue budgets and revenue reforecasts
    • Manage P&L effectively
    • Ensure adherence to general agency and specific client invoicing requirements
    • With support from other agency departments, review and provide input concerning appropriate staffing levels needed to efficiently serve clients

  • Between 8-10 years in account management, including launch and digital
  • Demonstrate expertise within all aspects of the advertising industry, particularly online environment and web development industry
  • Demonstrated success at growing existing (organic) client business and long-term client relationships
  • Experience managing P&L across brands
  • Believes in collaboration and teamwork and finds satisfaction in developing and mentoring staff
  • Excellent judgment and maturity
